Mission & Foundation

Welcome to the first social hotel !

Welcome to the D’Youville Manor Hotel.

An enchanting natural setting. An island that has become a refuge between river and lake. A history shaped by kindness. These ingredients have given rise to an unexpected mission for a hotel establishment: to promote well-being and overall physical and mental health while giving back to the community.

Here, beyond the rejuvenation we offer, we give meaning to everything we do, and everything we undertake must have significance. Accommodations, facilities, hospitality, activities, events, dining, management, circular economy principles… Every element is designed to contribute to authenticity in a systematic desire to return to our roots, to share and to help one another.

For example, in a nod to history, the team has revived the Grey Nuns’ garden. This 5,000-square-foot vegetable garden produces vegetables that are cooked in the Manoir’s restaurant and La Traite bistro, where local products are showcased.

In 2022, the manor even partnered with the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de la Montérégie-Ouest as part of a program to integrate a dozen young people with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disabilities into the job market.

The Foundation, a natural association

The management of the manor house and its development are in the hands of the Compagnom Foundation. Created in 2012 by Serge Choinière, it carries out preventive health projects. In concrete terms, it offers respite and well-being to people struggling with mental health problems by offering them stays in hotel establishments.

The tranquility of this exceptional place and the values drawn from history make the manor a favourite site for this foundation with an unconventional economic model: it finances its activities thanks to the establishments through which it carries them out.
