In this former dairy, local products are the star of the show! In addition to offering a cuisine based on local products, Bistro La Traite offers beers from Quebec microbreweries, ciders and wines from Quebec, but also from elsewhere in private imports. The most beautiful terrace in the region overlooks the orchard of Île Saint-Bernard! Cultural events are organized from time to time.

Refuge Faunique Marguerite-D’Youville

On Île Saint-Bernard, Refuge Faunique Marguerite-D’Youville, with 223 hectares, represents 93% of the island. The wide variety of ecosystems (marshes, swamps, shorelines, wastelands, maple groves and oak groves) make this place an exceptional site that can be appreciated through its 8 km of landscaped trails. Here, observe more than 240 species of birds, many mammals and a very diverse flora. Free access for guests of the manor all year round

Villa Marguerite

Meet the artists… The Villa Marguerite is a place of cultural creation and dissemination. Built in 1882, this historic house, linked to the presence of the Grey Nuns of Montreal, showcases the region’s artists through numerous visual arts exhibitions. Occasionally, workshops, art demonstrations and meetings with the artists are held as they colour their canvas outside, in the heart of an enchanting setting! – A partnership with the Association d’arts visuels du Grand Châteauguay.

The orchard on Île Saint-Bernard

In September, more than fifteen varieties of organic apples are available for pick-your-own at the Île Saint-Bernard orchard, including McIntosh, Cortland, Lobo, Liberty, Eden, Delicious, Spartan, Jonafree, Empire and Honeycrisp, among others. The orchard on Île Saint-Bernard is certified organic by Ecocert Canada.

Island Pavilion

Discover a 400-seat venue, located on the magnificent site of Île Saint-Bernard. Bordered by Lake Saint-Louis and the Châteauguay River, Île Saint-Bernard is a site rich in nature and culture. Soak up the sun on the footpaths or in the shade under the willows by the river or under the parasols on the terrace, sipping a drink from the café-bar.

Island Ecomarket

At the end of August, some 80 exhibitors (artisans, winemakers, jewellers, bakers, weavers, etc.), each more eco-friendly than the last, gather at the island’s Ecomarket. The largest eco-friendly festival in Montérégie is a real party thanks to circus and musical entertainment.
